Great modern style runs the gamut from casual good looks to glamorous beauty. Today, we explore modern interior spaces with an appealing luxe look. From the living room to the kitchen, we hope these eight rooms will inspire some of your modern design projects.

If you’re looking for modern luxe inspiration with a happy vibe or colorful twist, you need look no further than the work of ‘Mr. Happy Chic’ himself, designer Jonathan Adler. He always gives us beautiful interiors with a touch of luxe that don’t take themselves too seriously.

For instance, one of his latest obsessions seems to be parrot portraits. He used them here in a modern luxe room that also includes acrylic stools topped with cushions of long white faux fur, brass tables and a pale tufted velvet sofa. He designs spaces that are at once beautifully luxurious and easy to live in.

Black and white does modern luxe beautifully, don’t you think? With classic architectural details, thoroughly modern furnishings and a seriously gorgeous light fixture created by the home’s designer/owner from vintage crystals and brass fittings, this dining room is truly captivating.

Modern luxe can also be seen in mostly white spaces like this stylish but comfortable living room. Modern furnishings are eclipsed here by totally minimalist artwork. Think blank white canvas minimalism, a surprising design decision, but one that works in this space.

Again we see modern luxe style in an architecturally classic setting. A massive crystal and brass chandelier hangs above a long modern white table surrounded by Eames Eiffel chairs in black.

Sometimes modern luxe is seen in simple but stylish furnishings made better by soft lush textiles and vintage modern lighting. This stunning fixture was hand-assembled from found bass parts and vintage glass globes.

Sukio brings us this DC Design House sitting room created by Michael Hampton. It’s a pale study in modern glamour. Explore the details. Isn’t it stunning?

Modern luxe style can also mean creating a space that’s all about restrained elegance with one stunning focal point. The centerpiece of this wood-clad study is a fabulous vintage brass pendant.

Lastly, here’s a modern kitchen with amazing floor to ceiling white subway tiled walls and a massive tiger portrait also in black and white. Do you think the designer deliberately created the brilliant pink lacquered room as the focal point for this gorgeous kitchen?
