Description

Designed by LucidiPevere in 2011, Boiacca was created as a challenge: to make a table using a rough and imperfect material such as cement. The result, a refined and poetic table that offers special tactile and visual sensations, received an honourable mention at the Compasso d’Oro 2014. Subsequently, the Boiacca table was given a more traditional shape, with a Pure-white laminate or Fenix-NTM top® and wood legs with a metal core – a highly technological and finely crafted product. Still very up-to-date, the cement version is available in two colours, one light and one dark.

Both were born in the province of Udine and met at Politecnico di Milano, where they graduated in Industrial Design. Paolo Lucidi (1974) has had artistic training. He has worked in a factory, as a clerk, shop assistant and designer. He worked for a short period at the studio belonging to Piero Lissoni and then, for several years, alongside Marc Sadler, sharing projects for leading international companies including American Standard Europe and Salvatore Ferragamo. It was here that he learnt the hard but inspiring process of innovation, which, after many attempts, can lead to great design and commercial success. Luca Pevere (1977) He has gained professional experience with Clino Trini Castelli, examining the quality aspect of design (Mitsubishi and Hitachi), on the one hand, while analysing the technical aspect with Marco Ferreri, the pragmatic heir of Bruno Munari (Zerodisegno and Magis), on the other. In 2006, after 11 years, they left Milan and set up Studio Lucidi_Pevere based in Udine. They have designed for Novecentoundici, Deroma, Gedy, Softline, Unitable, Mariani and many more. Currently, they are working together with Foscarini, Arper, Horm, Kristalia and Teracrea to develop new products. “Ernesto Caiazza” Promosedia 1998 Award for the Svita product. “Maniago Design” 2005 Award for the Taj product.
